Safety Engineering Consultant

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Safety Engineering Consultant to join our Safety and Security consultants’ team. The role would be ideal for an aspiring engineer to develop their career or an experienced engineer looking for a role change.

The role will primarily be focused on GB&I whilst working alongside our HQ colleagues supporting our global opportunities.

In this position you will be based from home and required to travel across the UK and Ireland. On occasion, there is the requirement for overseas travel to our HQ in Germany for conferences and sales engagements.

This is your role. What part will you play?

• Customer liaison with regards to providing a Safety Risk Assessments, Mitigation reports, Validation and Verification documentation.

• Consultative input with customers to develop an engineering scope of supply.

• Provide engineering documents for the construction of a technical file.

• Supporting internal businesses with regards to engineering requirements required for technical file creation.

• Primary support for safety associated with the Machinery Directive and subsequent harmonised standards EN62061 and ISO EN13849 but to also consider the development of Process safety aligned with the IEC61511 standard.

• Represent Siemens in various standards committees and development boards within the UK.

• Develop the existing business in line with the current business targets.

• Ensuring SieSales is maintained and supported.

We are looking for a qualified engineer HNC level and above who are interested in developing a career in safety engineering and consultancy. Training will be provided, and the successful candidate will be provided with mentoring to achieve the level of competency required. Should a candidate have experience of safety and hold a safety qualification this would be an advantage.
