What part will you play?
SFS Project and Structured Finance Debt-EA (SFS PS EA) is one of the four financial services-oriented Business Units at SFS. Its role is to provide structured debt finance for the European, Middle East, African and Asia-Australian regions, mainly through Munich-based Siemens Bank GmbH and its branches in London and Singapore. We have a new position available in Singapore for an Associate Graduate Trainee, Risk Management.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
You will gain a minimum 24-month on-the-job training and will assist the risk management professionals in their day-to-day activities in underwriting and portfolio management of debt transactions in the Asia/ Australia region
You will be eligible for an oversees assignment up to 6 months to Munich Germany or London, United Kingdom as part of the full program
You will benefit by working with a dedicated nominated mentor during the trainee program
You will support the risk team members with financial statement analysis, industry and business analysis as well as country analysis to ascertain credit profile of potential customers
You will gain a good understanding of cash flow models as well as analysing business plans
You will get an in-depth understanding of the operations of a regulated entity (Siemens Bank) forming part of an industrial parent, SIEMENS AG
You will benefit from short term assignments to origination, compliance, treasury and operations
You will learn about business administration, regulatory reporting and compliance in a bank, and you will support Risk and Portfolio Managers in keeping all system data updated over the life of a loan; liaise with other departments in case of questions; act as first contact and main interface for queries from functions and other departments
You might take on ad-hoc projects as assigned by management
You will contribute to preparation of regular reporting for management review
The Candidate
We are looking for innovative and inquisitive candidates that demonstrate the following:
University graduates with a Bachelor/ Masters Degree in Business Administration, Banking & Finance, Accounting, Economics or equivalent and with a strong interest in the banking, debt markets and/or leveraged finance
You are open to an oversees assignment as part of this rotational position.
You have participated in past internships in a finance related department or financial institution.
You think logically, enjoy analyzing, are willing to self-learn and research, and take a forward-thinking approach to problem solving
You can work independently, safely and responsibly; you take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to advance your ability to drive and lead change
You enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions and have a convincing and motivating personality
You have strong social & communication skills with good command of English language
You have prior experience in project work, intercultural experience and good initiative
You have good communication skills, good interpersonal skills and have phenomenal teammate attributes
You have excellent Microsoft Office and data analytics skills
You display a growth mindset with an aim of ongoing learning and skills development
