Within the Smart Infrastructure division, the Energy Performance Services (EPS) activity designs and develops Energy Management Programs for its major Industrial and Tertiary Infrastructure customers. Based on a strategic analysis, these programs articulate turnkey projects and services enabling our clients to drastically improve their energy performance and environmental impact.

Thanks to our global approach integrating innovative skills, patented technical solutions, expert project management and deconsolidating financing, we are profoundly changing the way our customers' sites and activities produce and use energy. We design ambitious, innovative, low-carbon energy efficiency and production solutions with the most comprehensive performance guarantees on the market.

We are looking for a Senior Industrial Energy Engineer to develop, design and implement tailored and innovative solutions for energy saving and de-carbonization respecting the financial and business requirements of our customers and implementation constraints.

You will be involved in preliminary and detailed studies that will be the basis for turnkey projects in Italy with guaranteed performance (EPC: Energy Performance Contracts) that we deliver to our clients. As such, you are supposed to drive and supervise all the steps necessary to set up a complete EPC project: from energy baseline definition to savings algorithms, design (thermomechanical, electrical, civil) up to execution and performance measurements (CMVP certification preferred).

These missions will be carried out at the heart of a close-knit team including sales representatives, expert engineers and project managers within the rapidly expanding Energy Performance Services entity. The target market primarily includes large industrial sites, but also major tertiary infrastructures. Our offers are primarily focused on the optimization of the production, distribution, consumption and recovery of typically industrial Utilities (steam, hot water, chilled water, compressed air, etc.) and also integrate aspects of energy flexibility (microgrid, storage) and renewable production.

Your Challenge
  • Autonomously carry out energy audits and arrange and manage measurements on site (including IPMVP-type measurement and verification), evaluate data collected, make proper calculations of savings and corresponding investment costs, identify and develop technical solutions and specifications for subcontractors,
  • ensure sustained exchanges with the customer's technical teams (Process, Utilities, Maintenance, Quality) as well as active participation in negotiations alongside the sales teams with decision-makers in Purchasing, CAPEX/Investments and Industrial Performance/Technical Management.
  • In the project design phase you are able to coordinate with designers of other disciplines (electrical, mechanical) to verify and guarantee the respect of the agreed energy saving performances and manage necessary variations accordingly.
  • You maintain the highest quality assurance in project development processes, including the management of internal contacts and transfer to project execution and later service execution,
  • You will interact and develop collaboration with the Siemens community of energy engineers in Europe and its competence center,
  • You actively supervise innovative approaches, technical solutions and subsidies on the market to continuously improve our offers and business profile.
  • Travel at local level is to be expected up to 30% of the time.
What you need to bring with you
  • You should already have proven experience in industrial installations and in designing complete energy efficiency projects and participation in their implementation, together with:
  • You have Master Degree in Engineering or a PHD in Energy Engineering, with preference in energy efficiency for industrial plants
  • A plus will be a previous experience as project manager, and how to effectively articulate your work with the many internal collaborators (sales manager, other experts) as well as external stakeholders (customer, subcontractors) and coordinate their activities according to the Siemens project target.
  • You have excellent expertise in steam/vapor, air conditioning and/orrefrigeration, heating, ventilation, compressed air, electrical motors and other industrial uses. A solid command of the following subjects is required: industrial heat recovery, industrial processes (food processing, pharmaceuticals, industrial furnaces). Technical knowledge of renewable energy and flexibility in energy management, building management systems (BMS) and industrial or building automation will also be appreciated.
  • You are familiar with ESCO missions and activities (measurement Campaign, White Certificate etc.) and familiar with EPC structures
  • Team player ability, strong communication & interpersonal skills;
  • Fluency in English and Italian language (written and spoken)
  • Ability to work and operate in a changing environment
  • Effective collaboration in networks across businesses and functions
  • Being a role model for openness and inclusiveness as a non-negotiable cultural element
  • Eligibility to work in Italy

What can we further offer?

  • An inclusive and flexible way of working, with caring for everyone's personal well-being;
  • Flexible Welfare programs and health insurance can be extended to your family;
  • Activities’ organization guided by performance, where the achievement of objectives and the ambitious spirits are recognized;
