SIEMENS Large Drives Applications (LDA) develops and produces powerful electrical drive systems for the medium and high voltage range: electric motors, converters and generators. We also offer special large drives for ships, mines and rolling mills. Our digitization competence and our tailor-made service ensure that our drives remain powerful and state-of-the-art.

Large Drives Applications is one of the portfolio companies of SIEMENS AG, is the world market leader with its high-voltage motors and medium-voltage converters and also offers complete solutions for the Minerals/Mining, O&G und Metals industries. Our portfolio company is currently in the carve-out process. 

We will then continue to successfully organize our international business as Siemens Large Drives GmbH and further expand and optimize it in the lead country Austria with our assigned countries (CZ, PL, SK, RS, RO and UA) as well as close cooperation with our headquarters.

To strengthen our team in Austria, we are looking for a motivated Head of Minerals (f/m/d) for our office in Graz!

Nature of the Position 

Head of Minerals is responsible for leading sales activities for Siemens Large Drives portfolio in Austria, CEE region as well as dedicated conveyor customers globally. Siemens Large Drives comprise and incorporate following segments: medium voltage motors & drives, solutions (minerals), customer service and digitalization. Head of Minerals will be responsible to coordinate sales efforts across multiple Siemens divisions and will be accountable for sales targets.

  • Early identification and qualification of sales leads with cross divisional sales team,
  • Co-Manage customer communication and opportunity management with sales team,
  • Maintain executive relationship with key customers,
  • Lead full sales efforts / phase (technical survey, proposal delivery (technical and commercial) to obtain the order,
  • Develop new business model concepts
  • Lead strategic business improvement program to achieve sales defined targets for FY2025  
  • Mentors and support sales team with customer presentations, proposal development particularly with large target or key accounts,
  • Maintain highest customer satisfaction,
  • Fully profit and loss responsible for Minerals (Mining & Cement) segment including the project execution
  • As Minerals Head prepare, present and discuss the budget & forecast with Head Quarter
  • Strong collaboration with the Business Segments Heads to ensure a profitable growth of the business achieving the business targets of Budget/Forecast.
  • Ensure proper know how of Minerals/sales team to execute and improve operation. Act as a role model for team ensuring personnel and team development

What you need to make real what matters.

  • More than 10 years of solid experience in similar role as Sales Director / Minerals Head with P&L responsibility with strong external, customer focus and executive level engagement. Comprehensive knowledge of the CEE market and the conveyor market globally,
  • Fluent in speaking and writing English and German, additional languages are a plus
  • Position will have annual sales/business development targets,
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical field; MBA is a plus,
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver financial results and secure results,
  • Ability to plan, navigate and negotiate a complex sales process.
  • Experienced in coordinating diverse sales teams
  • Expertise regarding the disciplines drives & motors, process automation, power distribution,
  • Sales development experience in Mining and Cement industry,
  • Will need to exhibit the ability to manage a team based remote locations,
  • Excellent leadership, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel (30%)
