The Solid Edge product team may be the place!  The Software Product Definition Engineer role will be responsible for defining how products in the Solid Edge Portfolio should work from an end-user point of view. The position is on the Solid Edge Product Planning and Design team, part of Mainstream Engineering Division within Siemens. This is an individual contributor role. They will work with existing and prospective customers and internal Product Management teams to understand and address their business needs and efficiency goals. They will also work with product development teams and partners to solve sophisticated technical issues and build innovative improvements that can surpass competitive products in design automation.

Prerequisites:

Our preferred hire will possess a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent degree in engineering or technology. Candidates with up to five years’ experience or graduating students with outstanding academics may apply. A solid understanding of the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office products is required.

Essential Functions:

In this role, Software Product Definition Engineer will need creative and analytic thinking skills, strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to relate to customers and end users of our software and services. Candidate should possess a positive and upbeat demeanor with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple projects and to effectively communicate technical concepts and requirements clearly.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

Experience with professional Mechanical Design products such as Solid Edge, NX, SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk Inventor/Fusion 360, Onshape or PTC Creo is desirable. Alternatively, professional familiarity with other interactive software applications such as graphics design systems, drawing software, computer gaming software etc., including web or mobile applications, is acceptable. Knowledge of software life cycle methods or experience working on an Agile/Scrum team will be a plus.
