Then come and join our global team as Software Engineer (f/m/d) Digital Image Chain / Medical Imaging to develop software for our digital image chain that creates sustainable solutions for customer requirements.

Choose the best place for your work – Within the scope of this position, it is possible, in consultation with your manager, to work mobile (within Germany) up to an average of 60% of your working hours.

Effective from March 15, 2022 to December 31, 2022 inclusive, individuals working in medical facilities must be able to present a certificate of COVID-19 immunity in accordance with Section 20a of the German Law on Protection against Infection (IfSG – Infektionsschutzgesetz). This does not apply to individuals who cannot be vaccinated against coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 on account of a medical contraindication. A corresponding certificate in accordance with Section 20a IfSG is a prerequisite for the commencement of employment.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • You will work in an international team (12 team members) and implement software for our digital image infrastructure; this software will help physicians and clinicians to make decisions during treatment
  • You will develop sustainable solution concepts based on given customer requirements
  • You will participate in refactoring, improving, and expanding the software architecture and design; the aim is to set up the software consistently to support continuous integration and deployment, e.g., based on regression tests
  • You will pragmatically drive forward the concepts, specification, and implementation of modular software components
  • You will assess the technical feasibility and development efforts, e.g., based on prototyping alternatives
  • You will actively take part in our agile team as software expert and will prepare and present sustainable solutions in system context, from software design, architecture, and implementation, for example in quarterly agile reviews
  • You will consistently work on refactoring existing software and tests based on your years of development experience
  • You will interact in your role as developer within our international teams (e.g., China, India)

Your qualifications and experience:

  • You have successfully completed a master's degree in computer science, information technology or electrical engineering; preferably you hold a PhD
  • You have several years professional experience as a software developer
  • You have profound knowledge of software design methods (OOA/OOD), software architecture and related processes
  • You are experienced in using design patterns and the C++ programming language
  • You have taken an active part in specifying software components based on UML driven documentation
  • You are familiar with the methods used for reliable software testing both at unit and component level, for example by using test-driven development
  • In your past role you actively participated in the development of high-performance, low-level, multi-threaded libraries with interfaces across different agile teams
  • Preferably, you have experience with co-development under Linux and Windows
  • Ideally you are familiar with standards and regulatory requirements in the field of software for medical devices

  • Based on your experience and background, you quickly become involved in technical discussions and participate in solving technical obstacles across agile teams
  • You communicate fluently in English to operate successfully in an international environment; knowledge of German is advantageous but not required
  • Your unique personal skill set as well as your technological know-how will drive our team's spirit and contribute to our team's continuous improvement
