Job Description

Siemens Digital Industries Software is seeking to recruit engineers with experience in Software for Battery Engineering or Manufacturing to join our global sales team to further promote our software growth into the Battery Domain for many industries.

The accelerating digital transformation of this key component of today’s & future products requires Siemens to propose its knowledge and capabilities in solving various problems across wide length scales via digitalization, from the concept idea to the production.

Our DI SW Portfolio offers Xcelerator™ which is one of the few integrated solutions to support the battery industry from the engineering concept phase with chemistry engineering up to the cell manufacturing and in-use battery monitoring at commercial companies wanting to understand and accelerate their innovation. 

This is an outstanding opportunity to join our global PreSales team as a senior PreSales consultant to support the technical development and closure of software opportunities, first in focusing on performance engineering for the simulation of battery but also in expanding into other domain of the DISW portfolio thanks synergies connected to Simulation. 

You will need to be an enthusiastic teammate with an engineering background in battery chemistry or physics and also a commercial proficiency.

You will support the customer to achieve their technical objectives as part of a software sale opportunity and be responsible for the day-to-day execution of individual projects across the globe.


Responsibilities
  • Assists in early sales qualification of customer’s curiosity about investing in battery digital solutions
  • Responds promptly to support requests from global Sales teams that could include:
    • Partnership in customer facing meetings
    • delivering demonstrations
    • conducting benchmark and validation studies
    • assuming responsibility for software trials by potential clients within their environment
    • responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) etc.
  • Applies appropriate tools to analyse, identify, and resolve technical problems
  • Collaborate with customers during the technical execution of the projects
  • Acts as an ambassador for the Xcelerator battery solution internally, raising awareness of the solution within our customer facing organisation and sharing market feedback with product management and marketing
  • Participates to GTM material definition
  • Roll-out of battery industry knowledge and GTM material in zone & countries
  • Works with colleagues from Digital Manufacturing to identify commonalities
  • Works with segment teams for the definition of end-to end demonstrations

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

  • Qualified to minimum master’s degree level in engineering
  • Experience with Battery Simulation (Comsol, Autolion, BDS,…)
  • Battery industry knowledge of the development processes for battery across all simulation steps
  • Strong potential to connect with other battery industry applications 
  • Experience with C-level discussions
  • Capability to learn and to use fast internal tools developed from the Sales organization for prescriptive selling & ROI calculation
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively
  • Problem solving and reasoning skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience in using/presenting/demonstrating software in a commercial sales pursuit, in the context of a particular customers business needs, with an emphasis on business value and customers benefit.
