Mendix is a low-code application development platform - First, what is low-code? Low-code is a visual approach to software development that enables you to abstract and automate every step of the application lifecycle. Gartner predicts that “by 2024, low-code application development will be responsible for more than 65% of application development activity.”

The Program and Portfolio Manager will build and improve the program that makes Mendix the preferred platform for Siemens to build commercial software products. Your mission is to help Siemens units (Digital Industries, Smart Infrastructure, Mobility, GBS, Advanta to name a few) build and deliver software innovations better, faster, and in a scalable fashion. You will co-define the strategy and targets for Mendix as an Industrial (SaaS) solution platform, and based on requirements from our Siemens partners, build and optimize all parts of the “engine” that are required to make our Siemens partners successful. You will align and win buy-in from key internal Mendix stakeholders (R&D, Product Management, Finance and Legal, Marketing, Community Management, Technical Enablement, Academy etc.) and drive improvements in a hands-on way. In addition, you will own the relationship with selected Siemens solution partners and help them reach their goals using the Mendix Low Code platform.

Responsibilities:

Desired skills:
    • Strong appetite and willingness to learn new things across a wide range of areas – you shouldn’t shy away from learning the intricacies of OSS clearing on one day, how to define a pricing scheme on another, or how to build a Mendix app on yet another day.
    • Good understanding of Software, Low Code and the value they can create in the context of Siemens businesses
    • Strong sense of ownership and customer centricity
    • Experience in rallying diverse teams to the same cause and getting things done
    • Ability to identify and capture business needs and turn them into compelling proposals for Mendix internal stakeholders to act on
    • Creativity and tenacity to remove blocking points
    • Experience in partner and community management is beneficial
    • Strong communication and presentation skills in English, additional relevant languages are a plus (e.g., German, Dutch)
    • the successful candidate will have an IT Industry background
    • Prepared to travel approximately 25% of the time
