Position Overview:
The Production Shop supervisor shall manage the day-to-day production operations. Shall be responsible for implementation of Turbine Assembly and production scheduling. Accountable for ensuring safety, customer quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
Work Experience:
3 to 5 Years
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
• Effectively and efficiently supervises the production of the required daily/weekly/monthly targets in line with customer specifications, meeting quality and delivery expectations, minimizing costs wherever possible and ensures the required best working practices are always maintained.
• Responsible for supervising overall production activities, meeting customer requirements, and maintaining the orderly and productive operations of planned activities.
• Responsible for contribution in achieving production targets with required capabilities, yield, and lead time.
• Identify business improvement opportunities within the organization.
• Works with cross-functional teams and customers to provide crucial inputs on design for manufacturing.
• Contribution in optimizing the Assembly processes in terms of consistent quality and productivity.
• Responsible for implementation of appropriate cost control and cost reduction initiatives in collaboration with responsible functions.
• Responsible for adherence to department planning and work scheduling.
• Oversees planning for tools and consumables.
• Oversees planning of calibration of instruments, tools, and tackles.
• Responsible for ensuring strict adherence to all company manufacturing standards/methods and policies.
• Ensures that the function operates in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
• Ensure implementation of manufacturing processes and departmental SOPs.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Other responsibilities as assigned during course of work.
Requirements/ Qualifications:
• Relevant manufacturing/engineering degree is required.
• Extensive Factory level experience with significant proven team supervisory experience.
• Must be familiar with Steam Turbine and its components.
• Has thorough knowledge and practical experience of Turbine Assembly and its process.
• Must be familiar with all variants/models of siemens steam turbines.
• Must be familiar with turbine sub-assembly, rotating, static components and other processes connected with turbine assembly.
• Must be familiar with steam turbines engineering BOM’s and drawings.
• Knowledge of SAP and MOP tools.
• Has ability to act decisively and solve staff, material, or equipment-related problem.
• Must be computer proficient, including Microsoft Windows and Office software applications.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and multi-tasking.
• Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making.
• Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members.
