Remote IT Systems Administrator

Job Description

Siemens Government Technologies, Inc. (SGT) is seeking a Systems Administrator with Cloud/Office 365 GCC High expertise. The ideal candidate will have expertise in administering, managing, and troubleshooting cloud, hybrid and on-premises systems while maintaining SGT’s security posture for these systems in accordance with NIST/CMMC security controls.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for mission critical operational systems that improve efficiencies, effectiveness, and customer experience. You will also interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure security, privacy, and compliance requirements are addressed through security tools, policies, and technologies.

Principal Responsibilities 
•Ensure the availability, operability, security, and interoperability of Microsoft 365, hybrid, and on-premises systems including data storage, replication, backup, and recovery.
•Lead the administration, configuration, and management Office 365 GCC High G5 workloads.
•Manage and support storage and virtualization platforms.
•Providing technical support and maintenance (incident, change and problem resolution).
•Act as an escalation point for matters concerning server infrastructure.
•Support domain controllers, hybrid Exchange, GPO, and Office 365 GCC High workloads (Azure AD, Exchange, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and InTune).
•Work collaboratively with the Information Security team, IT Applications team, and our vendors to define frameworks and help implement the best practices for deployments in on-premises, hybrid, and cloud solutions.
•Proven background in IT operations purchasing of hardware, software, and services including working within a budget, purchase request creation, invoice approvals, and reconciliations.
•Work with clients to determine their needs and assess solutions for improving delivery processes.
•Ability to provide updates and documentation as requested in applicable project plans as well as all closeout documents.
•Develop and execute plans alongside IT Operations team colleagues to migrate or decommission on-premises systems.
•Ensure operational systems’ capabilities and features are being used to their fullest by working with vendors on feature releases and sharing that information across the organization through various means of communication.
•Develop training materials for best practices and how-to of Office 365 workloads and communicate with the organization.
•Support the Service Desk for issues requiring subject matter expertise.
•Primary internal support analyst and liaison with Microsoft support for issues in Office 365, hybrid/on-premises Microsoft solutions as well as provide liaison support with vendors that provide operational systems capabilities.

Required Experience
•Ten (10) or more years of IT experience.
•Experience in workload administration in Microsoft 365 GCC High.
•Excellent technical knowledge in operating systems, storage, virtualization, workstations (configuration and connectivity), network file servers, applicable software, and troubleshooting techniques, administration of SaaS/PaaS/IaaS environments.
•Ability to create system architecture diagrams and documentation for review by both technical and non-technical audiences.
•Capability to break down application requirements and propose appropriate architectural solutions.
•Excellent technical documentation skills for IT policies and desktop procedures.

Preferred Qualifications
•Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or another related field; or an associate degree plus 10 years of related IT experience.
•Minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT systems administration, and system security compliance.
•Minimum five (5) years in the Government contracting industry.
•Strong understanding of networking principles.
•Knowledge of US Government cybersecurity and cyber compliance best practices and requirements is highly desirable.
•Understanding of AWS Sys Ops administration.

Security Requirements
•Candidate must be a United States Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
