Director, Commercial Leadership Academy

Job Description

This role will report to the Senior Director, Sales Education. This position will support the ongoing sales leadership development that reinforces the mission, values, and culture of the company and drives success across business lines. The candidate will collaboratively develop and facilitate leadership training and create competency programs that align with in-role performance and development for the Commercial Organization. Candidate must be a strategic leader and hands-on training specialist.

  • Collaborate with functional leaders across Commercial business lines, Sales Education and HR to strategically design and implement competency models for field teams and their leaders
  • Design, oversee, and deliver high-impact leadership development experiences for emerging leaders (Mentor Program), new leaders, and existing leaders
  • Deploy coaching, feedback, and development tools aligned to business needs to drive performance and development with a focus on commercial field teams, including oversight of the new hire Mentor Program
  • Uses broad strategic thinking to analyze the characteristics of varying business environments and develop programs to support the needs of stakeholders
  • Facilitate blended learning delivery via workshops, webinars, conference calls, 1:1 coaching sessions, and written communications
  • Plan, develop, and conduct targeted initiatives in support of achieving our leadership strategy through identification of needs
  • Participate in development and deployment of programs targeting seasoned and legacy sales professionals
  • Ensure integration of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Respect (DEIR) messages across all team solutions
  • Effectively direct activities of external consultants minimizing and optimizing when necessary
  • Establish measurements, conduct research on latest trends, and analyze return on investment of training expenditure in areas of concentration, and make changes to ensure training remains relevant and valuable to the business
  • Leverage existing technology solutions to ensure activities are easily accessed and yield intended outcomes
  • Understand, apply, and remain current in adult learning principles and advanced facilitation skills to develop and execute the most effective learning programs
  • Navigate comfortably through ambiguous situations and work on a resolution
  • Operate with integrity and comply with all Company policies and procedures
  • Overnight travel of 25% may be required
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree a plus
  • 15+ years of industry and commercial experience
  • At least 3 years of relevant Leadership Development, Competency Development, and/or Learning & Development experience
  • Previous experience and track record of success as a first-line manager in sales and in a Commercial Leadership role
  • Demonstrated experience in learning/training development strategy, design, and implementation
  • Excellent content development, communication, platform and facilitation skills
  • Commitment to effective collaboration with key company stakeholders 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
