Software Development Intern

We are looking for a student intern to work on product features and engineering quality enhancements in Calibre xACT and xACT3D. You will be part of a group of senior software engineers contributing to new components and supporting existing components. The Calibre parasitic extraction products identify the electrical side effects of devices and interconnect wires in integrated circuit designs and output those in a format that can be used for comprehensive post-layout analysis and simulation. Emphasis of the internship will be on enhancing the performance and accuracy of our field solver-based parasitic capacitance engine.

Preferred qualifications:

Pursuing MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Scientific Computing, Computational Science, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
Experience with programming languages: C/C++
Knowledge of Unix/Linux environment.
Experience with and/or interest in large software development projects (code reviews, version management, unit tests, static/dynamic code checkers)
Practical (scientific) software development experience with and/or interest int projects that required numerical linear algebra and data structures/algorithms for high-volume data and computing
Strong team player with solid interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong ability and interest to learn, explore and apply new technologies in the domains of software engineering, computer science, and numerical mathematics
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Self-motivation, self-discipline, and the ability to set and work consistently towards personal goals

The hourly range for this position is $$22.00 - $50.00 per hour. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
