The successful candidate will report to the Head, Project Management and Operations and will based in Oakville, Ontario. This is a role of provincial and national scope and will required approximately 50% travel, mostly in the province of Ontario but could require occasional travel to other areas within Canada.

The Project Manager – Equipment Installation & Turnkey Solutions is responsible to independently lead and manage multiple projects of moderate to high complexity. They will be working closely with sponsors, process owners and subject matter experts to develop and deploy implementation plans and other project tools, establish project metrics and improvement targets, drive projects to completion, and monitor effectiveness of solutions. They will manage project resources within each project's triple constraints of scope, schedule and budget. They will also lead the design build aspect of the turnkey solutions area in helping expand on our pre-approved contractors while also supporting bid proposals to further enhance our capacity and competitiveness. The Project Manager is always prepared to communicate and present project status. This is a one-year contract with the possibility of extension.

As the Project Manager – Equipment Installation & Turnkey Solutions , your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing concurrent multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Creating and maintaining MS Project schedule and initiate corrective action when deviating from schedule
  • Providing complete revenue forecasts with utmost accuracy to Sales and Finance
  • Tracking current site status such as contractor tender, contractor award, schedule received contractor start, permits received, last call letter status, site readiness, site delivery date etc.
  • Visiting project sites to validate status, address issues and collaborate positively with customer, contractor and Mechanical Installation Vendor (MIV).
  • Working with site specific drawings, acting as the main point of contact for the architect, consultant, contractors, MIV and the customer as well as Siemens internal/external project resources
  • Responsibility for all day-to-day activities, including all stakeholder communications, administrative, budgetary functions and oversight of projects
  • Ensuring kickoff meetings, regular customer meetings, closure meetings and handovers occur and are transcribed and archived.
  • Support communication to ensure implementation of Syngo and IBD products are seamless for the customer
  • Leading Siemens Healthineers efforts in the turnkey solutions domain including growing capacity in bidding and contracting proposals.
  • Being actively involved and carry out tasks as applicable in the entire DB (Design Build) sourcing process right from Customer RFP until Final payment to supplier.
  • Working on continuous improvements, benchmark best industry practices, review processes and decision matrix tools and foster collaboration to allow the DB area to improve competitiveness and growth
  • Leading any initiatives with the procurement group to grow existing DB contractor base, supplier selection and develop KPI’s to measure performance of DB contractors.
  • Applying robust and broad knowledge of construction best practices and methodologies in ensuring that selected vendor proposals are compliant to customer requirements
  • Utilizing working knowledge of construction standards and management within industry including CCDC, bonding, withholding, payment milestones, construction/electrical codes etc.

As a successful Project Manager – Equipment Installation & Turnkey Solutions, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, healthcare or equivalent
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification or similar designation.
  • 5-10 years of demonstrated project management experience in external client facing healthcare (experience with medical imaging is required)
  • Experience with MS Project, and other Microsoft office applications
  • Familiarity with construction drawings and practices
  • Knowledge of building codes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with stake holders
  • Ability to travel to off-site project locations across Canada
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, if required

·       Bilingualism (French/English) would be considered an asset
