What does it take to be successful in this role?

We’re looking for a leader who is very well organised; who will ensure our colleagues at the Rochester site are not only complying with any necessary regulations but also delivering to our high-profile customer (such as National Grid, Alstom, ABB, Mitsubishi) expectations! 

  • Significant experience in managing people and processes – we want someone who is personable, has mentoring skills and can offer pastoral care to our apprentices
  • Experience of using and managing Balanced Scorecard Systems within a production facility.
  • Experience of managing supply chain processes, suppliers and stock.
  • Experience of managing a PMO function.
  • Knowledge of SAP and can provide ideas on how its functionality can be expanded upon.
  • Experience working in an engineering environment would be advantageous 
What part will you play?
  • Leads, motivates and develops dedicated employees
  • Implements guidelines and defines functional specific policies, processes or methods to fulfil the support of Project Services
  • Works closely with the PMO to plan and allocate resources and budgets to projects or activities 
  • Ensures we are obeying regional laws and regulations
  • Ensures a proficient and capable workforce to conduct the Business Support activities in time and quality 
  • Defines and ensures implementation of corporate approved Project Management Coordination (PMO) policies for assigned organization unit(s).
  • Standardises the project related governance processes and facilitates the sharing of resources, methodologies, tools and techniques
  • Implements PM and PMO guidelines and processes, and manages respective functional organisation 
  • Takes care for effective risk management measures
  • Administers and ensures adherence of PM policies, guidelines, programmes, and standards
  • Contributes to and consolidates projects (plans, budgets, resources, operation status) and completes reporting 
  • Analyses workflow environment and proposes improvements in PM operations
  • Ensures effective cooperation with stakeholders; clarifies organisational issues
  • May oversee - specific - activities of Project Management Office and Project Services such as the oversight of the apprentice programme
