We seek to hire a Bid Manager to handle bids and proposals from the customer's initial interest to the handover of the awarded project to the execution team. Leading a team of subject matter experts, you apply your project management skills to create winning proposals that exceed customer expectations.

You will be responsible for balancing an opportunity from qualification to contract award, including value proposition/strategy development, solution development, commercial considerations, partner identification, and risk management. This highly networked role requires your ability to work under pressure, meet challenging deadlines, and apply strong people management and communication skills.

We are looking for someone who has confirmed capability in delivering complex, multi-million-dollar project opportunities and is comfortable working with a wide range of partners.

You will run complex, multi-workstream opportunities applying our internal project management tools combined with the skills vital to lead diverse groups of contributors. Having broad exposure to internal and external Senior Management, this position is an impactful one, being a pivotal piece to the growth of the business.

Your ability to craft messages that speak to our customers cohesively and comprehensively, understanding the needs of our customers, how to best address them, and match them with our value proposition, is crucial to delivering winning bids for the business.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Lead bid teams and inputs from various partners, typically involving contributions from Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Finance and Commercial, Legal, and Project Management.
  • Establish and maintain critical targets and performance indicators to measure and control bid projects and contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
  • Be an excellent communicator, and liaise with both internal and external clients.
  • Lead customer-facing activities (customer interviews, Q/A sessions, project achievement meetings, design approvals, final acceptance procedures) from bid generation to final project acceptance.
  • Review the financial aspects of the bid, ensuring all services are included in the final price to the customer; manage the budget throughout the lifecycle of the bid process.
To thrive in this role, you have:
  • Highly structured with attention to detail, exceptional communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written communication skills in English with the ability to significantly contribute content and proofread and edit complex documents to ensure continuity and consistent themes.
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant experience of related work history.
  • Experience in a project and bid environment within a corporate context.
  • Experience in US governmental (RFP) projects.
  • Adhere to defined PM@Siemens standards.
  • Ensure timely delivery of compliant and commercially sound bids.
  • Understand and resolve complex technical, strategic, and business issues.

This position is based in Sacramento, CA. We offer a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The base salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA, is $85,500 - $158,700, and the annual incentive target is 10% of the base salary.
