As the Commercial Controlling Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing support to business administration, business performance controlling & central services over the Canadian Finance organization
- Reviewing & approving customer quotations and proposals, support during RFP process and provide feedback to various stakeholders relating to finance topics
- Ensuring contract profitability is closely monitored for improvements, including contract compliance and in-depth analyses vs prior year, budget and forecast
- Supporting monthly business reviews including preparation of presentations and waterfall bridges
- Supporting planning, controlling and analysis of financial activities (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow related)
- Contributing to the implementation of financial and business administration policies, standards, and procedures
- Active involvement in month and quarter end close, analysis performed, appropriate controls are in place, to ensure clean books in accordance with accounting principles and RIC requirements
- Providing in-depth analysis of costs, provide transparency on cost drivers, build up cost bridge and advise opportunities for productivity improvement
- Driving new and improving existing financial dash boards & forecast; suggest and implement meaningful KPIs to enable decision making
- Interacting with HQ colleagues and ensure timely responses to their queries
- Handling of internal and external audits, provide necessary documentation as required and participate in related meetings.
- Evaluating and driving implementation of digitalization and automation opportunities to streamline and simplify existing workflows.
- Supporting on corporate initiatives, manage projects as needed, thinking “Outside the Box”
- Managing ad-hoc requests on a timely basis, as needed
As a successful Commercial Controlling Specialist you will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration or related area (CPA designation preferred)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in various types of financial analyses, monthly close activities, and budgeting and forecasting
- Expert level skills in using business intelligence tools, data analysis and visualization, automation and digitalization is preferred (PowerBI, Microsoft PowerApps suite, etc.)
- Ability to manage up, down, and in all directions without expressed authority, building appropriate rapport with colleagues at all levels of the organization
- Ability to effectively manage deadlines and prioritize in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
- Experience in business excellence & process optimization is strong plus
- Excellent professional judgment and problem-solving competence
- Expert in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel and SAP knowledge is preferred
