Software MES/MOM Lead Engineer

We are looking for a MES Engineer, focused on (but not limited to) Pharmaceutical sector, to be hired with a permanent contract in Genoa within the Siemens Business Unit in charge of process industries (Digital industries Process Automation)

Your Challenge

As MES Engineer your mission will be to work in an automation and digitalization team together with engineers and project managers.

Some of the main activities will be:

• Propose and design MES solutions for Life Sciences (primarily Pharmaceutical) industry based on Siemens standard product OpCenter Execution Pharma (previously known as Simatic IT eBR - electronic Batch Record)
• Define functional and design specifications by interpreting business processes and technical requirements
• Translate functional and design specifications into an MES concept: workflows, equipment classes, etc.
• When required, develop custom scripts and interfaces
• Define test specifications, participate in tests and commissioning according to GMP requirements
• Develop tools and templates to speed up the design process
• Conduct technical training when required to share development best practices
• Propose measures to continually improve engineering processes to optimize cost and quality

To be a perfect fit for this role, you would already have:

• Knowledge of OpCenter Execution Pharma or similar MES software packages and processes in the pharmaceutical industry
• Experience in database management and query methods: Oracle/MS SQL databases
• Knowledge of basic programming languages ​​such as .NET, HTML, C++/C#, XML/XSL/XSD, VB Script or VB6
• Experience with DCS systems (both from Siemens: SIMATIC PCS 7, Simatic Batch and from other companies such as Emerson, Rockwell); ERP systems are a plus
• Good communication skills, a creative mindset and an effective team player
• Availability to travel with medium and variable frequency based on the requested activity
• Passion to never-stop growing
• Desire to work in an international/multicultural environment and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
