Engineering Internship- Rail Infrastructure

Job Description

Siemens Mobility US is looking for aspiring engineers to come aboard for a 10–12-week internship journey where they will get exposure to what happens behind the scenes to make the rail world go round.   

During your summer journey with us, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Engineering organization where you will learn how large technology projects are performed in a complex transit environment.

A little bit about us 

Siemens Mobility provides efficient and coordinated transportation of people and goods by rail – including rolling stock, rail automation, rail electrification, and service. We craft and manufacture across the entire spectrum of rolling stock, including commuter and regional passenger trains, light rail and streetcars, metros, locomotives, passenger coaches, and high-speed trainsets. Cities and Railroads also rely on us to provide traction-power substations and electricity transmission, as well as signaling and control technology for freight and passenger rail and transit systems.

In Siemens, Engineering is at the center of our products and solutions.  We are implementing some of the most advanced rail technology in one of the worlds largest mass transit environments.  

What you will do…  

Learn about how we work  

Work with engineers to learn how our technology is improving the transit system 

Interface with different departments and learn about how collaboration drives success 

Gain insight into our technology with real engineering challenges 

Understand how our solutions are deployed in complex environments

Basic Qualifications:  

Must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or similar from an accredited college or university 

Legal authorization to work in the US is required 

Must reside or go to school near internship location (insert location) 

Preferred Qualifications 

Preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 

Previous internship experience or relevant school projects 

Strong communication skills – verbal and written 

Ability to work on a team 

Interest in learning about the rail industry – project management, customer service operations, manufacturing, etc.
