We’re currently recruiting co-ops for our Summer & Fall 2023 Strategic Student Program. Our co-op positions will allow you to find a career path that most inspires you. Baseline Requirements:
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • Authorized to work in the US without the future need of sponsorship
  • Able to work full-time (40 hrs/wk) in Summer 2023 and continue part-time (10-25 hrs/wk) in Fall 2023
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA

Development & Security Engineering Co-op
Specific intern work assignments will involve a wide range of functions, including applications engineering, software design, hardware design, software testing, feasibility analysis, and more.

Possible coop responsibilities include:
  • Continue the work on unifying our security/development analysis tools into a single web application, integrating data from:
  • Coverity Static Analysis – Providing reporting from release to release and completing the integration of Coverity instances into Jira defects.
  • OSS / Vulnerability management – We currently have completed the code to pull the vulnerability information out of the Siemens Vulnerability Management site for reporting, but would like to integrate that information into JIRA and provide for 2-way updating of the information.
  • Black Duck Binary Analysis – This is a new tool that identifies OSS within our install by scanning the binary and extracting info. We have data out of it, but would like to integrate it with the existing OSS reports for comparison.
  • Retirement of the Legacy Mentor OSS reports – These approvals were grandfathered into the current products. I’d like to be able to generate corresponding OSS requests in the Siemens system for a complete and accurate report of 3rd party content
    • Bring all the above information together into a unified view of our product content, as a Software Bill of Materials.
  • OSS request tracking – Integrate the tracking of requests through the Legal Review process
  • As time is available, they would also contribute to:
  • Expanding our test suite for deliverables out of my group
  • Developing/capturing/executing security testing procedures for my team
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate upper-class (Junior/Senior) standing
  • Development skills in JavaScript / React
  • Scripting skills in Python
  • Development skills in Java and C++ also highly desirable
  • Some understanding of software security issues (encryption, web security, secure coding) is desirable

The hourly range for this position is $22.00 - $50.00 per hour. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
