This position is part of our Power Technologies International (PTI) team. PTI is our trusted advisor that takes a holistic approach, providing business advisory, technical consulting, and simulation software solutions. Join us in our mission to enable grid operators, along with industry and infrastructure companies, to accelerate and secure this energy transition in a sustainable and profitable way.

This is a remote position. Work options include local or fully remote anywhere in the US.

It's your role, here's the part you can play:

You will work on exciting topics, including small to medium sized, single projects.

  • Performs transmission planning through the application of power systems planning principles to simulate and analyze the power system steady state and dynamic behavior
  • Develops mathematical models for reliability assessment of electrical networks
  • Analyzes customer's business requirements and application objectives, and develops an application design in products to meet customer's needs
  • Conducts periodic status checks with customer and team to assess progress against plan
  • Estimates time frames, quality and quantity of resources required to successfully implement semi-complex project; supports development of project plan incorporating all project variables
  • Prepares weekly status reports on all project activities
  • Produces draft reports and presentations with study results for the review of supervisors
  • Delivers on-site technical consulting/training services
  • May participate in pre-sales support as needed

Be part of our team, here's what's needed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Power Systems Engineering with practical experience in using advanced power system analysis tools. We will consider candidates with 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Advanced degree MAY be substituted for experience
  • Candidate should have knowledge of transmission system planning or operations with experience analyzing power flow, transient stability, and electromagnetic transients.
  • Experience with PSS®E, PSS®SINCAL or PSLF is required
  • Ability to discuss findings clearly via reports and presentations
  • Experience in distribution planning and/or production costing will be considered a plus
