Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

Our Locomotives business unit won a lighthouse project for the development, manufacture, commissioning and maintenance of 1,200 modern locomotives for Indian state railways. The major project is worth around €3 billion.

You will receive a permanent German labor contract and will be seconded to India for two to three years.

  • You will be responsible for the successful implementation of what is a key project for our company.
  • Acting with entrepreneurial spirit you will bear full profit & loss responsibility.
  • You will expand the existing core team and set up an efficient project organization on site.
  • You will manage the complex project ecosystem, starting with research & development through the complete supply chain to the manufacturing/assembly of the locomotives at the Indian Railways site.
  • Also, you will shape the relationships with our customer Indian Railways and the political leaders in a safe and productive way characterized by mutual trust.
  • In addition, you will act as the main contact person (f/m/d) for the Headquarter organization and our Indian national company. This also implies exposure to the Board of Siemens AG.
  • Furthermore, you will build up a successor (f/m/d) in India who can continue the project after your delegation ends.

Your qualifications – solid and appropriate

  • You have many years of experience in major projects in the rail vehicle sector.
  • You are able to successfully lead international and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Therefore, you have a track record in project assignments abroad and are able to empower international teams sustainably.
  • Furthermore, you bring a professional project management certification.
  • Fluency in English is essential - other languages are always welcome.
  • You are ready for a delegation to India (2-3 years).
