Job Description

Siemens Smart Infrastructure is looking for a Logistics Expert (m/f/x) to reinforce our Electrification & Automation team. In this role, you will be managing all export-related logistics topics for our medium and high-voltage networks. Your scope will be mainly African countries.

The Electrification & Automation business unit accompanies the customers in their electrification’s journey from revamping project to optimization of electricity usage through advanced automation systems. We support customers/society who are using electrification as lever for decarbonization. 

You will act as a logistics expert and single point of contact for our customers, project manager, project controllers, suppliers, factories, and several other internal and external stakeholders. Next to that, you will support our Electrification & Automation projects, from the offer phase up until the arrival of our goods to the customer.


What will your tasks be?

  • You will ensure the correct offer for our projects by correctly calculating all export-related logistics topics, including cost optimization and support of cost control. 
  • You support the bid team by providing guidelines and vital information regarding tax topics (e.g., VAT, Withholding tax) and trade compliance (e.g., export control classification).
  • You closely follow up and monitor invoices for our projects.
  • You will ensure the proper shipment of our goods, either by road, sea, or air, also considering several insurance specifications.
  • You will prepare and closely follow up the necessary documentation such as export/import declaration, Certificate of origin, bill of loading, EUR1).
  • You will ensure mandatory inspections are being carried out (e.g., Veritas, SGS).
  • You align with the Chamber of Commerce, Customs, and different transport companies.

What qualifications are required for this position?

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar function with good knowledge of shipping regulations and policies.
  • You're a natural communicator, excellent planner and you pay attention to details.
  • You can coordinate multiple tasks and manage several different stakeholders.
  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving abilities combined with a critical mindset.
  • You preferably have knowledge of MS Office.
  • A proficient level of Dutch, French and English is mandatory.
