We are seeking a Digital Process Business Development to join the Process Automation business unit (PA). PA is responsible for providing technical applications in the field of advanced solutions like advance analytics, modelling and simulation, advance process control and optimizations, decision support systems etc. Moreover, PA is providing products and turn-key solutions for Cyber Security and Smart process instrumentation. 

The Digital Process BD primary role is to develop customer opportunities managing the optimization of existing and new architecture Digital Solutions. Digital Process BD will also be responsible for technical content of proposals for digital solutions.

Your Challenge

The Business Development Manager is responsible to drive digitalization in Process Automation (PA) market, mainly Chemical, Water, Oil&Gas, Pharma.

It includes working with the customer to drive our digital portfolio, identifying and executing expansion opportunities within the existing customer base, as well as developing a business prioritization/strategic account plan for our Country Italy.

This position will also collaborate with our HQ and our Vertical market sales to generate new opportunities as well as to increase our market share.

He / She will report directly to the Head of Business Unit Process Automation.

Key accountabilities
    • Has primary responsibility for a customer digital portfolio, that mainly comprises strategic customers and prospects of the Process Automation (PA) business
    • Responsible for the achievement of the agreed sales targets (budget, strategic actions, etc.) according to the industry specific portfolio
    • Generate and manage business opportunities related to the PA Digital Portfolio
    • Manage activities that take place during solution ideation and solution design
    • Analyze current technology architecture used within the company and determine ways to improve and optimize it.
    • Review business process and functional requirements to optimize the solution architecture requirement for the solution, recommending potential options and the development of the technical proposal for the selected solution.
    • Participating in technology selection, controlling solution development, and supporting project management during execution phase
    • Ensure that proposed solution not only fulfils the functional requirements but also comply with the standards guidelines of technology solutions.
    • Supports the architectural aspects of all digital plant application proposal.
    • Supports technically the sale force in client meetings and presentations
    What you need to bring with you
    • University degree with a strong affinity for technology (Computer Science, Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, Automation Engineering)
    • Industry experience and digital transformations (e.g designing, implementing, and commissioning of digital plant solutions)
    • Familiar with Digital Manufacturing concepts, Connected Manufacturing, IIoT, Connected Platforms, Edge & Cloud Analytics, Digital Twins, MES/MOM etc.
    • Fluent in English and Italian, both spoken and written
    • Willingness to travel to (national) client sites (in compliance with company travel policies)
