The position is an integral part of the global Vertical Sales HQ team, driving and developing growth in vertical segments globally. The Digital Solutions Director will be responsible for engaging with customers and our business units to develop the Digital Solutions for industrial vertical markets that are strategically important for Siemens Smart Infrastructure.

Tasks include the development and maintenance of the solutions portfolio according to both Siemens internal product lifecycle management standards as well as market and customer feedback. In close interaction with the development team, you will develop requirements and steer the creation of deliverables (technically and from a sales enablement standpoint).


Your new responsibilities

  • Drive SI’s customer-centric digital solution approach across multiple industrial verticals, in close collaboration with our cross-business unit community and dedicated go-to-market- and technical partners
  • Identify market demand and customer requirements for scalable, digital solutions.  Contribute to use case development and prioritization
  • Ensure development of outstanding digital solutions with focus on customer value and their digital transformation by applying Siemens solutions to key infrastructure optimization and manufacturing processes with focus on IT/OT integration
  • Drive differentiating solutions that anticipate future opportunities in a converging IT/OT landscape in close alignment with the Siemens Xcelerator community across Siemens businesses
  • Engage with strategic customers to understand solution requirements and collaborate with selected external solution partners to extend SI’s solution capabilities
  • Establish business models based on customer, ecosystem partner and internal requirements
  • Support definition of multi-industry and industry-specific solution messaging and value propositions incl. go-to-market enablement for direct and indirect channel sales organizations
  • Lead a community of stakeholders in our matrix organization (countries, business units, other central functions)
  • Facilitate the integration of solutions/ multi-product offerings into our sales enablement platforms via compelling challenger campaigns.  Ensure creation and availability of documentation, trainings, marketing material and technical demonstrations

Your Skills

  • Master’s degree in Engineering
  • At least 4 years of experience in product management and project management, in either energy, building automation or electrification
  • Expertise in digitalization (e.g., cloud, APIs/connectivity, web applications development)
  • Concentrated experience in electrical or building technologies infrastructure solutions in automated and data-intensive manufacturing industries.  Experience also in the buildings sector is an advantage
  • Outstanding ability to collaborate and communicate across interpersonal boundaries, with partners from different fields as sales/ business development/ marketing and technical teams incl. software context
  • A can-do, team-player attitude is crucial to the task
  • A global attitude with strong intercultural sensitivity and the ability to work collaboratively with teams and partners around the world
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, presentations skills in English; another language is an advantage
