What is the Engineering Development Program?
The Engineering Leadership Development Program (ELDP) positions you to be an integral part of the Siemens engineering team. Participants will have the opportunity to create new solutions, work with new technologies, engage with customers, and drive the digitalization growth of Siemens through (4) six-month rotational assignments over the course of 2 years. Applicants will apply their expertise and knowledge to help drive the growth of Siemens as applications engineers in the industrial automation space.
Engage in a variety of engineering challenges that consist of designing custom software and hardware architectures, testing and troubleshooting those architectures, working with electromechanical systems and machines, and engaging with cutting edge technologies in the digital IIOT (industrial internet of things). Utilize world-class simulation tools to pave the way for technical innovation and reduce time to market for our customers.
This opportunity is a full-time position with benefits and is designed to help you foster a successful career path within Siemens.
Applicants can start either in January or July.
Potential experiences include:
- Software and hardware systems design
- Working with customers and internal teams to develop solutions
- Engineering testing
- Software testing
- Project management
- Technical work and training in Germany is possible
Requirements
We’re looking for innovative entry-level engineers who are resourceful — true problem solvers who challenge themselves to find the most effective and efficient solutions to complex challenges. To apply for the Engineering Development Program, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Majors: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science
- Relocation and Travel: Must be willing to relocate and travel as required by program, as well as travelling for business
- Organized, self-motivated, effective communication skills, problem-solver
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong programming foundations. Experience can come from any language or environment: Ladder, C#, Python, C/C++, Java, iOS development, Android development, web development, etc.
- Other beneficial skills (not required): control systems, Ethernet networking, windows app development, power electronics, mechanical statics/dynamics
- Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
