Strategic Planning Intern

The Strategic Planning organization includes responsibility for Market and Competitive Intelligence.  This group plays a critical role in understanding the market landscape including trends, business models, adjacencies, in addition to understanding our competitors’ strategies, performance, investments, and more. This team performs strategic analysis that provides insight to answer what is happening in our market space, why, and what does it mean?  

In this role, you will gain a solid understanding of the software market through analysis of markets and competitors. You will have the opportunity to work with and collaborate across the Strategic Planning team. The intern be highly organized and detail-oriented as well as self-motivated, goal-oriented and possess good interpersonal communication skills. A foundational background in business with basic understanding of financial statements is preferred.
You will champion projects that allow you to:
  • Partner with members of the Market and Competitive teams to assist on large scale projects distributed across the company including executive level reports
  • Examples of previous intern large scale projects include: Leading a competitive business overview, partnering on competitor earnings call reports, exposure/presenting to senior leadership
  • Perform a variety of research projects through various methodologies including market, customer, and competitive analyses
  • Develop and improve data-based presentations reports to summarize your findings
  • Find and showcase insights from the data
  • Improve communications, interaction, and presentation skills
  • Develop the ability to operate with minimal supervision over the course of the internship
  • Develop professionally with opportunities to receive mentorship
  • Be a part of the Strategic Student Program and have access to a variety of resources, including presentations from leadership and Student Power Hours

 Organization Requirements:
  • Studying for a degree in Marketing, Economics, or Business with experience or knowledge in financial principles a plus
  • Structured thinker and excellent analytical skills, able to identify and communicate solutions and recommendations
  • Strong, polished oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present to large audiences and provide status updates on a regular basis
  • Comfortable with frequent meetings via Teams
  • Flexible, adaptable, and proactive
  • Ability to work remotely

The hourly range for this position is $18.00 - $44.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees.
