Strategic Marketing Data Analyst - User Insights

Job Description

Do you look at unstructured and structured user data and wonder what insights are hidden inside? Does the idea of storytelling with qualitative and quantitative data make your heart race? If so, this new role in the Siemens Strategic User Insights team will allow you to explore the full spectrum of user data we handle, from qualitative user research and quantitative user testing data analysis to web analytics and customer satisfaction data.

The Siemens Digital Industries Software group is looking for a full-time Strategic User Research Analyst who will help us bring context and insight into how our Siemens Software as a Service (SaaS) users interact and behave with our broad spectrum of products and services. 

‍At Siemens Digital Industries Software, you will be the first Strategic User Research Analyst and play a vital role in reshaping our rich portfolio of SaaS solutions. Your goal will be to generate empirically based insights and establish a data management framework and process to help guide and inform critical strategic decisions for the Siemens DISW SaaS portfolio of products.

With your passion for understanding user needs by leveraging a full range of qualitative and quantitative data, you will be on the ground floor shaping the future of our SaaS product portfolio.

You will be in a highly visible role reporting to the Head of Strategic User Research.

The Strategic User Research team supports a collective understanding of the users’ needs that drive the product discovery process. Our goal is to move beyond asking if we are building the right solution; instead, are we solving the right problem?

This position is a remote position limited to US-based applicants. There will be some travel required to support this position.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Generate New Insights: Master complex unstructured and structured data and break down ambiguous problems to uncover previously unknown findings by analyzing qualitative and quantitative user data
  • Manage Insights: Manage the complexity of wrangling and synthesizing a wide range of user research data sources and insights.
  • Know Our Users: Study the behavior of our users from multiple points of view and proactively look for ways to understand and improve their experience with our SaaS products and services.
  • Communicate Insights: Turn research findings into actionable, practical solutions and present them to the team and organization. You will work closely with stakeholders to incorporate research findings into the discovery and design process to create a more informed and effective SaaS experience.
  • Document and Iterate on Process: Create and maintain good documentation for research initiatives and continuously work to drive research process improvements.
  • Work Collaboratively: Work in a cross-discipline environment with engineering, customer experience, and business teams to align on and deliver the most impactful experiences possible.

Qualifications

·       5+ years of experience in a user/customer data-heavy (qual & quant) role. (e.g., User/Design Research, Customer Experience (CX), Market Research, Library/Information sciences).  

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences (e.g., psychology, anthropology, linguistics), Library & Information Sciences, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related disciplin
  • Ability to work with large amounts of information and see the bigger picture.
  • Experience with Web Analytics, SQL, SPSS, data analytics, and other data analytic tools (i.e., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Fullstory, Amplitude)

The salary range for this position is $76,500 to $137,700.
