Position Title: Electrical Engineer

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 40 Hours/ Week

Summary of Duties: Customize and adapt standard medium voltage metal enclosed switchgear to specific customer requirements. Review drawings with customers and provide instructions to electrical and mechanical drafters. Follow-up with aftermarket requests and convert them into sales opportunities. Analyze customer’s technical specifications, one line diagram and schematic diagram regarding the application of Siemens MV switchgear products along with associated protection and control systems and design appropriate product solutions to meet the customers’ expectations in cost-effective and timely manner. Work independently to create all documents for customer approval and manufacturing of Medium Voltage switchgears. Takes full ownership of the overall deliverables. Provide factory support during the manufacture of your projects to ensure that the final deliverable is true to the design. Be a subject matter expert, sharing knowledge of the product and process to help others on the team achieve their goals. Collaborate in efforts to improve team processes and tools to drive up overall team efficiency. Utilize the NXTools+ configurator software to prepare specifications, layout drawings and bill of material with a high degree of accuracy. Utilize knowledge of various electrical CAD software packages to complete project work and drive efficiency with process improvements. Works with bill of material in an ERP system (SAP).

Qualifications: The position requires a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or an acceptable alternate occupation. 

The position requires one (1) year of experience with the following skills: Analyzing customers’ technical specifications regarding the application of protection and control systems and applying appropriate product solutions to meet the customers’ expectations in a cost-effective and timely manner; Reading, understanding, and evaluating electrical schematics to identify errors or potential improvements; Demonstrated technical knowledge of the Electrical Products Industry; Ability to multitask and manage large workloads and business demands; Knowledge of ANSI, IEEE, UL, and NEMA standards for MV Switchgear; Electrical CAD experience producing protection and control schematics. Approximately 10% travel required
