OBJECTIVE:
The Low Voltage Motor Applications Engineer will cover NEMA Motors. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance and quotations to Channel Partners, OEM’s, End Users and Internal customers. Review technical specifications and documentation from end users, original equipment manufacturers and industry standardization organizations. Determine proper equipment sizing and design parameters based on specification requirements. Participates in recommending alternatives or changes to semi-complex customer specifications and/or processes to better match Company products to customer needs and to improve productivity. Occasionally participates in investigating and analyzing field problems.
FUNCTIONS:
· Working knowledge of NEMA low voltage motor products.
· Provide technical assistance, motor quotations, project quotations per job specifications for distributors, original equipment manufacturers, and end user customers.
· Coordinate and work closely with Sales Engineer and Inside Support as part of a regional team. Team will be expected to achieve assigned annual volume.
· Provide pricing analysis and authorize special pricing in accordance with Siemens LOA process.
· Provide low voltage motor training to regional customers as needed.
· May provide general guidance or train lower-level support staff.
· Assist in the scheduling and coordination of large segments of projects to achieve cost and time objectives.
· Performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically requires processing and interpreting, more complex, less clearly defined issues.
· Ability to organize and prioritize workload
· Refers semi-complex, unusual problems to others. Identifies and resolves readily identifiable, clearly defined problems.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree, preferred.
· A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in electrical machine design and application of low voltage motors.
· Must have excellent oral and written communication skills required with the ability to interface with sales support, customers, engineering, customer service and warranty administration on a daily basis.
· ERP/ software: NX, SAP, 3D, AutoCad
· NEMA standards (parameters with which a motor must be designed) (three-phase motors)
· Excel: advanced
