Job Description
Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, Point of Care (POC) business unit seeks a senior-level Graphical User Interface Designer with experience managing GUI development projects. The Sr. GUI designer will be responsible for leading the GUI design and development for one of our key programs and will be responsible for defining and managing the GUI look & feel, standards and guidelines for all user interfaces across entire DX POC business unit. In this position the Sr. GUI designer will be responsible to research and understand the needs of the user, apply a user centered design process to define requirements, write use cases, generate GUI concepts, workflows, prototypes, define the visual language, design graphic elements collaborating with key functions such as marketing, engineering, software and other UXD team members to ensure GUI development for the program. The Sr. GUI designer should be able to lead and execute user centered design activities such as usability testing, design reviews, status meetings. The candidate should have a strong understanding of User Experience, user centered design in a regulated environment, preferably in the medical device industry.
Requirements.
Strong interaction design, information architecture and visual design expertise with the ability and experience to drive projects from inception to completion, manage external design agencies.
- Experience in researching user needs, conducting workflow analysis, and developing user interface requirements, creates compelling visual designs and graphic elements. Should be able to define the standards for all GUI development across the BU and should have experience writing style guides.

- Experience in researching user needs, conducting workflow analysis, and developing user interface requirements, creates compelling visual designs and graphic elements. Should be able to define the standards for all GUI development across the BU and should have experience writing style guides.
- Able to lead and collaborate with cross functional team members to create diverse concepts, a range of screen layouts, visual designs, storyboards, prototypes, and GUI specifications. Must have experience with documenting, organizing and transferring design assets and specifications to software development.
- Must possess a strong understanding of software technologies and platforms for smartphones, tablets, laptops, workstations, and embedded displays on medical devices.
- Collaborative decision maker with strong communication and project management skills, ability to multi-task and lead.
- Bachelor’s Degree in HCI, User Experience Design, Interaction or Visual Design or equivalent. Master’s degree a plus.
- Well versed in new technologies and approaches in the Interaction Design / User Interface Design field.
- 8+ years in the field of User Experience, GUI development. A strong portfolio a must.
- Prototyping skills are a plus. Experience designing medical device GUI’s is a plus.
- Master’s degree a plus.
- Travel up to 5%
The pay range for this position is $109,928- $151,151 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
