What are we developing? 

The goal of our teams is to develop products for the railway industry - specifically for cyber-security and safety-critical solutions. It is our job to make sure that all devices which control trains can’t be vulnerable to cyber-security attacks and that all trains made by Siemens Mobility are safe for public use.  

 Each of the teams has an assigned DevOps engineer who is setting up and maintaining all the Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI & CD] infrastructure that is needed for the products. You would be cooperating closely with the developers, system integrators, and security experts to create an environment that is robust and maintainable. 

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Administration of servers and applications 
  • Management of build and deployment environments
  • Setup and maintenance of pipelines and processes for CI & CD
  • Configuration and security hardening of Linux based servers
  • You would be working with technologies such as Debian, GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, SonarQube and many others

 

Key qualifications:

  • You are studying the third to fifth year in a technical university (e.g., Faculty of Information Technologies, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering)
  • You have advanced experience with Linux
  • Knowledge of a scripting language (preferably Bash or Python)
  • Experience with Git and basic CI mechanisms (g. pipelines)
  • Excellent analytical thinking
  • You can speak English (the meetings, inputs and outputs of your work will be in English)

 

Extra advantage for this role is:

  • Experience with software development process and software releasing
  • Experience with administration of Linux servers
  • Basic knowledge of IT Security principles

The modernization of the railway tracks is a trending topic worldwide and we are offering them modern, digitalized solutions such as a distributed network of railway control modules, train onboard devices, or a completely new concept of level-crossing.

Our Prague department consists of more than 100 developers, testers, and other technical experts. We are developing both software and hardware products with full product responsibility. We take care of the complete development process – from architecture concepts to final validation.
