What will you do?

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Environment and Special Process Technician (or Environmental Technician) will work with various teams including the Quality Inspectors, EHS coordinator and will be:

  • Responsible for managing special processes (plating and painting)
    • Provide technical support to the production department (quality, mechanical, chemical)
    • Analyze and implement employees' 3i ideas
    • Carry out a constant search to reduce costs (continuous improvement)
    • Supervise maintenance work
    • Coordinate the entire process for maintenance work
    • Create work instructions depending on employees’ various needs
    • Train staff on various work instructions
    • Supervise staff
  • Responsible for documenting engineering procedures and projects affecting special processes
  • Responsible for managing processes in Environment, Health and Safety, and Energy Management
    • Conduct quarterly internal audits
    • Analyze environmental non-conformance reports
    • Take corrective action according to various non-conformance reports
    • Determine action plans based on objectives and annual targets
    • Train employees on various procedures
    • Manage procedure documents
    • Prepare environmental management reviews every shift
    • Produce various monthly reports to the management, Siemens Canada, to managers in Germany, to the government, etc.
    • Use techniques and methods to identify, control, and eliminate risks that may affect the environment
    • Ensure that company policies and environmental regulations are applied and followed
    • Collaborate with various organizations (Ministère, suppliers, consultants, etc.)
  • Responsible for reaching “Star Power” objectives
  • Responsible for protecting the environment with regards to product development and design (life cycle analysis, reportable substances, etc.)
  • Responsible for developing the ISO 14001 Environmental Management system
  • Responsible for developing the ISO 50001 Energy Management system
  • Performing all other related tasks as assigned
 

***This position requires in-person availability at our Drummondville factory/office. ***

 

What will you need to succeed?

  • Degree in Chemistry, geophysics, Biomedical or other related field
  • We are also open to new grads!
  • Excellent knowledge of ISO 50001 standards, required
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards, a strong asset
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 / ISO 14001:2018 / ISO 45001: 2018 - Asset
  • Ability to demonstrate rigour, resourcefulness, initiative and determination;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work in a team while demonstrating a collaborative mindset and strong priority management skills;
  • Excellent knowledge of French (spoken and written);
  • Good knowledge of English (spoken and written) to interact with colleagues outside of Quebec
