Manager- Product Promotion and Strategy: HV Switchgear Products

What this role offers:

This role is designed for a dynamic, passionate, and goal-oriented professional with relevant experience, aspiring to contribute to Product Management for High Voltage products, both of AIS and GIS type. It is an ideal opportunity for a technical expert with the ability to think innovatively and collaborate effectively across functions to deliver distinctive value to the business.

The position offers significant growth potential within Siemens Energy by enabling the individual to represent and promote our technology portfolio to key customers and the broader market. It also involves understanding customer and market expectations and aligning them with core responsibilities such as product promotion, strategy development, and business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

A) Market intelligence & futuristic opportunities mapping:

  • Conduct comprehensive market surveys and demand analysis to expand access to relevant market and customer data.
  • Analyze key customers, competitive landscapes, and evolving business models to identify growth opportunities, in close coordination with Sales and Offer Management.
  • Evaluate customer requirements and market trends, converting insights into actionable product strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Actively contribute to the annual market intelligence exercise by consolidating and presenting structured market insights and key findings.
  • Enhance product-level transparency by identifying future demand trends and proactively assessing opportunities for differentiation and innovation.
  • Collaborate with PLM teams to track served and unserved product variants. Support the formulation of effective product-market strategies to maximize market coverage.

B) Technology promotion:

  • Lead product promotion initiatives by effectively positioning and showcasing Siemens Energy’s technology solutions to key customers and target markets.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Offer Management, R&D/Engineering, and other internal stakeholders to develop and deliver differentiated value propositions aligned with business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for product development and enhancement to strengthen market penetration and competitiveness.
  • Actively participate in portfolio workshops, contributing cross-functional insights and aligning with stakeholders such as PLM, R&D, Offer/Order Management, Engineering, and Technical Services.
  • Foster strong collaboration with both internal and global teams to stay abreast of the latest technological developments and translate them into compelling value propositions for the market; strong networking capabilities are essential.
  • Drive knowledge sharing initiatives, customer training sessions, and presentations to promote sustainable and environmentally friendly switchgear solutions, thereby enhancing market awareness and adoption.
  • Support the development and execution of product strategies aimed at strengthening market presence, improving competitiveness, and driving business growth.

C) Support on Make approval/ Vendor enlistment at key customers:

  • Support and drive the process of product make approval and vendor enlistment with key customers and utilities to ensure inclusion in approved vendor lists.
  • Coordinate closely with Sales, Offer/ Order Management, Quality teams to prepare and submit comprehensive technical and commercial documentation required for approvals.
  • Engage with customers, consultants, and approval authorities to understand specific qualification requirements, standards, and compliance criteria. Identify gaps in existing product offerings vis-à-vis customer approval requirements and collaborate with internal teams to address them effectively.
  • Track and manage the end-to-end approval process, including documentation submission, technical clarifications, inspections, and follow-ups, ensuring timely closure. Maintain a structured database of approval status across customers, regions, and product variants to ensure transparency and accessibility.
  • Support factory audits, technical presentations, and product demonstrations as part of the approval and enlistment process.
  • Work closely with global and regional stakeholders to leverage existing approvals and align strategies for faster market access.

D) Policy advocacy: Representation in external forums and regulatory:

  • In coordination with respective internal authority, represent Siemens Energy in external industry forums, standards bodies, and regulatory platforms to advocate for business interests and technology adoption.
  • Engage with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and key stakeholders to stay aligned with evolving policies, standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Contribute to policy discussions by providing technical insights and supporting the development of industry guidelines and frameworks.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business, translating insights into strategic actions. Support preparation of position papers, technical notes, and presentations for external representation.

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds

  • Bachelor / master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 to 15 years of working experience preferably in
    • Market Intelligence and Analysis: Strong experience in market mapping, demand analysis, and competition benchmarking, with a focus on analyzing potential key customers and business models for growth. Experience identifying and executing product development or enhancement needs to increase market reach and positioning, with a good understanding of reverse engineering.
    • Marketing and Business Development: Proven track record of Product Promotion, business development and technical sales. It should involve relating customer requirements with our offerings, including product gap analysis, product changes, cost benchmarking, and competitive analysis.
    • Customer Management: Skilled in conducting workshops, presentations, and training sessions for internal teams and customers to promote product portfolio awareness and market development.
    • Networking and Stakeholder Management: Strong collaboration and networking abilities to engage with internal teams, global functions, and external stakeholders to keep track of market trends, product developments, and customer needs.
