Your Impact
As an Electrical Engineer at Siemens, you’ll play a key role across the entire project lifecycle, from early concept development and customer collaboration to final system testing and commissioning. About the Role
The Siemens Distributed Energy Systems (DES) team is seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Electrical Engineer to support the design, implementation, and commissioning of cutting-edge distributed energy projects — including Energy Storage, Photovoltaic, and Microgrid systems.
You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, project managers, and developers to deliver integrated, resilient, and sustainable energy solutions for commercial, industrial, institutional, and utility customers nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and review electrical designs for PV, BESS, and microgrid systems, including one-line diagrams, protection schemes, and interconnection drawings.
Coordinate and review load flow, short-circuit, arc-flash, and protection coordination studies for medium- and low-voltage distribution systems.
Design and configure network applications, SCADA, and control architectures for distributed energy assets.
Support interconnection applications, utility coordination, and system modeling.
Collaborate with project teams on equipment selection, specifications, and factory acceptance testing.
Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and performance testing phases.
Ensure designs comply with Siemens standards, NEC/NESC, IEEE, UL, and utility interconnection requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience with electrical power systems and distributed energy projects (PV, BESS, microgrid, CHP, etc.).
Working knowledge of utility interconnections, protection relays, and communication protocols (DNP3, Modbus, IEC 61850, etc.).
Strong understanding of AC/DC systems, switchgear, transformers, inverters, and protection devices.
Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP, SKM, or equivalent design tools.
Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, project management, and field execution teams.

The pay range for this position is $109,100 - $176,000 annually with a target incentive of 10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
