Siemens Mobility South Africa is seeking experienced professionals in railway signalling, in the field of interlocking and control systems engineering to join our team of Data Engineers.

Responsibilities of the Role

• Configure Interlocking software based on plans using various software tools.
• Apply fundamentals of South African railway signalling philosophy for the configuration of Interlocking software.
• Integrate the Interlocking System to the Train Control System for full system correspondence
• Liase with the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) team and assist with correction loops.
• Travel to site to support the Site Acceptance Team (SAT) where and when required.
• Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including design, implementation, and commissioning phases.
• Implementing projects within the time schedule and producing the required quality of output in order to reduce rework and meet deadlines.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in the Railway Signalling industry
• Experienced with SIMATIC Manager or equivalent.
• Communication/Network Technologies, including design and hardware configuration.
• Interpret Railway Signalling Front Sheets, Control Sheets, and Element Connection Diagrams provided by the Engineering Design Office.

Preferred Qualifications:

• B.Tech (Electrical, Electronic or Computer Engineering) qualification.
• Be familiar with South African Railway Signalling Philosophy (PRASA ROC6 and Transnet ROC4)
