The Opportunity
In this role, you will take on regional and cross-divisional responsibility for the total Purchasing Volume (PVO) of assigned commodities within a defined material and ESN scope. You will lead the organization, oversight, and performance measurement of pooling and procurement activities across a virtually managed regional team. By leveraging regional volume pooling and implementing common strategies, you will work to secure optimal conditions from an excellent supplier base—ultimately maximizing contribution to the company’s operating results.
What will you do?
Commodity & Sourcing Management- Coordinate and manage a virtual/disciplined regional commodity team to achieve optimum conditions and savings through collaborative, targeted activities.
- Drive regional cross-divisional or divisional sourcing initiatives to increase profitability.
- Identify and support global sourcing (Global Value Sourcing) as requested by Corporate Commodity Managers and the Project Teams to achieve Global & Local requirements and objectives.
- Perform supplier management activities, including supplier selection, documentation, and communication of FPL suppliers.
- Conduct regular supplier and strategic evaluations, classifications, and development programs. Coordinate supplier quality management activities within the region.
- Maintain close collaboration with strategic suppliers through structured engagement and evaluation processes.
- Define and implement negotiation concepts and strategies to maximize savings.
- Negotiate regional frame contracts, define core assortments, and document agreements in relevant Supplier Management IT systems.
- Generate, document, and implement savings (DI 1-3) and monitor KPIs such as CNI, eAuctions, and Supply Base Optimization.
- Ensure regional commodity target achievement for business success.
- Systematically share procurement-related project information (e.g., updated contractual conditions, supplier data) to keep all stakeholders informed.
- Implement and communicate commodity strategies within the region, emphasizing sustainability and diversification.
- Contribute to global commodity strategy and ensure long-term, cost-efficient supply of materials.
- Safeguard supply chain resilience by identifying risks and potential disruptions.
- Integrate sustainability and cybersecurity considerations into sourcing strategies.
- Strengthen stakeholder networks and maintain regular communication with relevant interfaces to ensure alignment and information exchange.
What will you need to succeed?
- Proven experience in procurement, commodity management, and supplier relationship management.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to define and execute cost-saving strategies.
- Analytical skills for monitoring KPIs and driving performance improvements.
- Knowledge of global sourcing practices and supply chain risk management.
- Ability to integrate sustainability and cybersecurity considerations into sourcing decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to foster collaboration and alignment.
- Proficiency in procurement systems and tools for contract documentation and supplier management.
