  • Horseheads - New York - Verenigde Staten van Amerika

America’s high-speed rail future will be built in Upstate NY. Siemens’ investment in Horseheads will lay the foundation for the next chapter of our nation’s transportation future, making real high-speed rail, what only a few years ago seemed like a dream. When fully operational, the new manufacturing facility will span nearly 300,000 square feet and create around 300 jobs – including electro-mechanical assemblers, quality management, quality control, industrial production and test engineers, project management, supply chain management and logistics employees. Just as New York’s rich rail history once helped shape the state, these skilled jobs will help shape high-speed rail production in our country for the very first time.

Siemens Mobility is seeking an Engineering Change Coordinator who works with Project Managers, Engineering, Production, and Commissioning personnel to ensure that changes are effectively and economically implemented. This position is responsible for the control and efficient management of all aspects of a High-Speed Rail project product related change. Overall, this role handles, coordinates, and tracks all engineering and production changes in a project and sets priorities for all steps of the change process. In addition, you will communicate vital information between departments and data management systems. If you're passionate about engineering, collaboration, and continuous improvement, this role is for you!

🔄 Engineering Change Management Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of product changes—from request and approval to release and implementation—across all projects.
  • Ensure close coordination between engineering and manufacturing teams for efficient execution of design changes.
  • Track and report the status of product changes, including implementation progress, material impacts, and product configuration updates.
  • Prioritize changes based on their impact to production, suppliers, and project schedules.
  • Monitor the effects of changes on design, material availability, and rework instructions.
  • Support change coordination efforts both in the factory and in the field.

📊 Process Oversight & Communication

  • Serve as the technical resource for commissioning site leads and attend shop floor meetings to stay informed on production issues.
  • Validate the economic viability of changes using DTC measures and return on investment analysis.
  • Ensure manufacturing issues are properly raised into engineering change requests (ECRs), orders (ECOs), or field modification instructions (FMIs).
  • Lead the Engineering Change Board as needed and maintain clear communication across departments and data systems.

🎯 What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in product design or change coordination

  • Ability to read drawings and understand build processes
  • Excellent communication, organization, and data visualization skills
  • Experience with Bill of Materials, Value Streams, and Control Plans

🌟 Preferred
