We are looking for Sr. Software Engineer - TCMS

You’ll make a difference by

  • Define system requirements and system interface specifications for vehicle control.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and review of software components, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers in TCMS design and development.
  • Design and develop control functions for TCMS software using functional block diagrams in compliance with EN 61131-3 standards.
  • Oversee preparation of software test specifications, conduct reviews, and ensure thorough design verification.
  • Coordinate and support integration and validation testing with cross-functional teams.
  • Analyze diagnostic data, resolve complex issues, and propose improvements to enhance vehicle performance.
  • Build and validate system-level TCMS concepts for locomotives and trains.
  • Take end-to-end responsibility for software upgrades and new feature implementations following the V-model approach in line with EN 50657 standards.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, system engineers, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
  • Conduct training sessions for customers and service colleagues.

Desired Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical, Electronics, or related filed.
  • 12+ years of experience in the rolling stock domain, with at least 3–5 years in a lead/mentorship role.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, task delegation, and resource planning.
  • Strong knowledge of locomotive/train control, testing, and commissioning.
  • Hands-on experience with MVB, WTB, and Ethernet communication protocols; TRDP knowledge is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of standards such as IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375, EN 50657.
  • Strong stakeholder communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive results under tight schedules while ensuring compliance with industry standards.
