As a Thermodynamic Engineer (m/f/d) for large steam turbine proposals, you will work closely with various departments to overcome technical challenges and to ensure the feasibility of new apparatus projects. Your contribution is crucial in supporting projects from the initial concept phase to the successful handover to the execution team. Every optimization you implement does not only enhance the performance of the steam turbine but also significantly contributes to increasing customer satisfaction, which is key to the success of our projects.

Your new role – challenging and future-oriented:

• Thermodynamic calculations for large steam turbines with a focus on Combined Cycle Power Plants
• Development of technical concepts during the pre-acquisition and proposal phases, taking into account evaluation criteria and economic boundary conditions
• Selection and design of steam turbines and related components (e.g. valves) to meet specific customer requirements and to ensure technical feasibility
• Close alignment with other departments, particularly R&D, portfolio management and project execution, as well as with sales and proposal team during negotiations and other technical clarifications
• Creation of performance guarantees, project-specific curves (e.g. correction curves or aging curves), as well as providing input for the calculation of specific steam turbine costs and contingencies
• Reviewing and commenting on customer specifications regarding performance-relevant aspects of the steam turbine.

We don’t need superheroes, just super minds:

• ·       Successfully completed degree in mechanical engineering, energy technology, process engineering or a comparable field
• ·       Foundational knowledge in thermodynamics, particularly related to steam turbines
• ·       First experience with thermodynamic calculation tools is an advantage
• ·       Self-initiative, resilience and engagement, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively within a global team
• ·       Fluent in English, both written and spoken
• ·       Strong teamwork and communication skills in an interdisciplinary and global work environment.
