The Siemens ProductCERT Vulnerability Intelligence service empowers Siemens businesses to offer compliant products, solutions, and services while enhancing incident and vulnerability management processes and workflows. You'll make an impact by

  • Designing and developing robust backend services using Ruby on Rails, focusing on enhancing the JSON:API to improve functionality for Backstage plugins
  • Integrating these services with various systems through diverse APIs, ensuring seamless communication and data flow between platforms
  • Designing, developing, and maintaining both backend services and frontend user interfaces for new and existing Backstage plugins, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance
  • Collaborating closely with other teams to ensure that backend services align effectively and meet all functional requirements
  • Implementing security best practices in your development process to safeguard applications against vulnerabilities
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our development practices by creating and implementing test strategies


This is how you'll win us over

  • Education: You have a Master's degree or a Bachelor's degree with relevant professional experience.
  • Experience and Skills:
    • Proven backend development expertise, especially skilled in Ruby on Rails and adept in API design principles (JSON:API)
    • Experienced with the Backstage developer portal ecosystem, including plugin integration, and familiar with Typescript, React, and Node.js
    • Proficient in modern development and operation practices, including Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, version control with Git, and security best practices for cloud applications
    • Familiarity with database interaction using object-relational mappers/query builders (e.g., Knex.js) and relational databases
    • Understanding of authentication and authorization mechanisms, especially leveraging existing identity providers
  • Ways of Working
    • You demonstrate an ability to work effectively in a SAFe and Agile environment, ensuring scalability and maintainability of applications
    • You are known for your ability to communicate complex technical details effectively in English and work collaboratively in a dynamic, international team environment, aligning closely with your colleagues in adjacent roles
    • You use modern software development tools, version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines and follow security best practices for cloud-based applications
  • Languages: Proficiency in technical English is required
