Quality Engineer (f/m/d) – Return & Repair
As Quality Engineer (f/m/d) – Return & Repair you ensure effective failure analysis and sustainable problem resolution for returned protection devices. This role involves global coordination of quality measures across factories and development sites, applying structured problem-solving methods, and driving competence development for analysis processes.

You’ll make an impact by
- Perform failure analysis on returned devices (hardware and firmware).
- Apply the 8D method for structured problem-solving and documentation.
- Global coordination of critical quality cases across factories (Berlin, Goa, Nanjing) and development sites (Berlin, Nuremberg, Goa, Hebburn, Vienna).
- Collaborate with Customer Care, production, development, and suppliers for root cause analysis and sustainable error prevention.
- Establish and maintain competence development for failure analysis processes across all sites.
- Support the definition and improvement of quality processes in the Return & Repair area.
Your defining qualities
- Education: The basis of your success is a technical university degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science or equivalent.
- Experience & Skills:
- First years of professional experience in failure analysis of electronic devices and their firmware.
- Proficiency in quality methods (8D, Ishikawa, FMEA).
- Product knowledge in protection devices (SIPROTEC, REYROLLE, SICAM A800) and their application in switchgear and power networks.
- Ways of working:
- Effective collaboration in interdisciplinary and international teams, demonstrating strong intercultural competence and communication skills for constructive conflict resolution.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and solution development, with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to changing requirements and priorities.
- Languages: Fluency in written and spoken German and English; additional languages are an advantage.
