As an intern with the Electrification and Automation (EA) division of Siemens Smart Infrastructure, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting power distribution systems that keep the world running today, while also being exposed to our Future Grids technologies that are shaping the power systems of tomorrow - all within a collaborative, impact-driven environment.

We are seeking qualified candidates to join our Solutions Offers Internship beginning in May or June 2026. This position will be based at our Wendell, North Carolina office location.

You’ll make an impact by:
  • Creating and maintaining work instructions for Applications Engineers using AI-enabled tools.
  • Working closely with Applications Engineers in the Data Centers and Industrial & Construction teams to define and document applications engineering processes.
  • Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the Applications Engineering playbook and related SharePoint content.
  • Collecting and analyzing quotation data to identify trends and support budgetary offer development.
  • Assisting with the enhancement and adoption of AI and digital tools within the Applications Engineering workflow.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field. Candidates must not graduate prior to September 2026.
  • Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the 12-week summer internship.
  • Experience with or exposure to AI and digital tools.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts related to pricing, quotations, or cost analysis.
  • Eligible candidates must be located within 50 miles of Wendell, NC, as this role does not provide relocation support.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience creating process documentation or work instructions.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint or similar knowledge-management platforms.
  • Exposure to applications engineering or technical sales support processes.
  • Knowledge of medium-voltage electrical equipment.
  • Interest in digital transformation, AI-enabled workflows, and commercial/technical proposal development.

You’ll Benefit From
The hourly pay range for this position is $25.00 per hour for first time Interns or $25.50 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
