Within Siemens Mobility, we are looking for a HSE Senior Advisor to join our Rail Infrastructure business based in our York office. In this role, you will champion, facilitate and support the effective and proportionate management of health, safety and environmental risk in every area of the business.

Acting as an expert, you will provide guidance and advice to staff and management, collaborate with colleagues in the Health, Safety, Environment and Wellbeing function to ensure legal compliance and to deliver continual improvement in pursuit of excellence. Proactively support EHS Advisors within the region, promoting collaboration, consistency of approach and shared learning to facilitate their professional development and ensure sustainability and effectiveness of the function.

You’ll make an impact by

  • Being accountable for monitoring and reviewing all BU’s and project specific outputs to ensure internal standards are met or exceeded
  • Championing, advising and supporting risk management
  • Providing direction and EHS leadership to the BU’s and regions, challenging senior leadership both internally and externally where required to embed cultural change
  • Supporting development of risk assessments and work instructions, monitoring implementation across the region, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting activity to promote consistency of approach and shared learning across the region
  • Building relationships with client and external stakeholders to understand and communicate changes or impacts of governance requirements
  • Acting as a final review of any EHS Bid and Tender submissions prior to submission

Your success will be grounded by

  • Hold or working towards Level 5 or 6 qualification in Health and safety, environment, sustainability or quality management
  • Membership of an appropriate professional body
  • Qualification in second discipline i.e IEMA (Environmental)
  • Lead Auditor qualification (desirable)
  • Chartered membership of an appropriate professional body (desirable)
