Software Development Engineer - EMAG - M/F
We are Siemens
Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our software.
Do you enjoy working on complex solutions and have an insatiable appetite for knowledge?
Within the "Simulation & Test Solutions" organization, you will join the Low-Frequency (LF) Electromagnetics team dedicated to developing our low-frequency electromagnetic solutions in Simcenter SimLab. Historically focused on the finite element method, the electromagnetic part of the software has been enhanced to solve integral volume formulations with the PEEC method, which is better suited for simulating devices with a predominant air domain, such as in power electronics (bus bars, power modules, sensors, and others).
Therefore, you will act as an R&D Software Development Engineer for our PEEC solver and collaborate with the technical stakeholders of Simcenter SimLab, working with numerous international teams in an Agile mode.
You’ll make a difference by:
• Applying your C++/Java software development expertise and your knowledge of electromagnetic formulations to build and evolve low to medium frequency electromagnetic simulation solutions
• Designing, developing, and maintaining both the electromagnetic solver and the graphical user interface (GUI)
• Developing new algorithms and improving the performance, robustness, and scalability of existing ones
• Structuring and implementing new functionalities for low to medium frequency electromagnetic simulation using the integral PEEC method
• Creating intuitive GUIs and ensuring a seamless and reliable link between the solver and the user interface
• Collaborating closely with Product Managers and product sponsors to define requirements, specify developments, and deliver high value features
Your success is grounded in:
• Holding an engineering degree in electromagnetic modeling, applied mathematics, computer science, or a related field
• Bringing experience in low frequency electromagnetic modeling
• Demonstrating a strong mastery of software development in C++ and Java, with solid expertise in object oriented programming
• Applying good knowledge of common object oriented design patterns and algorithms for both backend development and graphical user interfaces
• Building on a strong foundation in applied mathematics
• Communicating effectively in both French and English, orally and in writing, to collaborate efficiently within international Agile teams
• Showing autonomy, curiosity, and a proactive mindset as key drivers of success in this role
