The role ensures seamless integration of WHRS with the host industrial process, maximizing power generation from waste heat while improving energy efficiency and supporting sustainability targets.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Design
- Evaluate process flow diagrams, waste heat sources, and WHRS integration feasibility for new or existing plants.
- Analyze heat balance and determine usable waste heat potential (especially from preheater & cooler gases in cement plants).
- Review WHRS layout, including boilers, HRSGs, ducts, turbines, auxiliaries, and equipment specifications.
- Ensure equipment selection that supports variations in gas temperature, moisture, and flow.
Commissioning & Start up
- Lead pre commissioning, commissioning, testing, synchronization, and reliability runs of WHRS boilers, turbines, and auxiliaries.
- Ensure safe execution of steam blowing, turbine roll-up, logic checks, interlocks, and grid integration.
Operations & Performance Monitoring
