Here at Siemens, we take pride in enabling sustainable progress through technology. We do this through empowering customers by combining the real and digital worlds, thereby improving how we live, work, and move today and for the next generation! We know that the only way a business thrives is if our people are thriving. That’s why we always put our people first. Our global, diverse team would be happy to support you and challenge you to grow in new ways. Who knows where our shared journey will take you?

Transform the everyday with us!

Siemens Digital Industries Automation is a leader in industrial automation and digitalization. Our technologies enable customers to digitally transform their factories and manufacturing processes through automation by helping them collect, interpret, and leverage the vast amounts of data generated through the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). This unlocks previously unrecognized manufacturing potential, reveals new insights, and enables solutions that seemed unimaginable before.

We are looking for engineering students to join the Digital Industries Automation Technical Consulting Internship. This position will be based at Alpharetta, GA.

This is a 12-week summer internship program (May 18, 2026 – August 7, 2026) that is designed to help you develop the technical expertise, consultative skills, and business proficiencies needed to succeed in technical solution consulting roles. You'll create high-impact enablement materials, analyze data to drive sales growth, and gain hands-on exposure to a range of industries and customer types that our Digital Industries technology serves. This internship will prepare you for a potential opportunity with our full-time 18-month Automation Genesis development program or other entry-level roles after graduation.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Developing and analyzing customer data to create install bases and identifying high-potential "hunting grounds" and drive short-cycle business opportunities for sales teams.
  • Creating and prioritizing targeted customer recommendations, including drafting compelling presentations and strategic questions for customer engagements.
  • Designing easy-to-understand technical content, diagrams, and guides that effectively explain complex Siemens solutions to OEM customers or selling partners.
  • Supporting the preparation of customer-facing presentations and proposals, showcasing how Siemens products address real-world challenges.
  • Researching customer needs and market trends, matching Siemens DI technologies to specific customer challenges and competitive landscapes.
  • Building impactful technical marketing and digital enablement materials, such as brochures, playbooks, and online content, to support sales efforts and customer understanding.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Rising undergraduate seniors (as of summer 2026) and master's students pursuing a degree in: Industrial/Industrial Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technical majors
  • Must be a student at the time of the internship and on track to graduate within one year after the internship (no later than May 2027)
  • Available to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, from May 18 to August 7
  • Familiarity or strong technical aptitude for quickly learning complex automation and software technologies (instrumentation controls, SCADA, PLCs, etc.)
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills for translating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Growth mindset, demonstrating resilience in problem-solving and customer engagements
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in team environments
  • Self-motivated and proactive with strong organizational and time management skills, capable of managing projects independently while seeking guidance as needed
  • Must be willing and able to relocate to Alpharetta, GA for the summer (housing stipend and mileage reimbursement are provided if required to relocate more than 50 miles from your permanent residence) and travel up to 20% for customer visits, job shadows, trade shows, and training events
  • Work Authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
