Service Engineer

We are looking for a Service Engineer to join our Service Execution division to be hired with a permanent contract in Genoa or Rome.

Your Challenge
As a Service Engineer you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Operational Technology (OT) systems at customer sites primarily located in Italy.
Your main activities will be:
- Perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of OT systems (PLCs, DCSs, SCADA, HMIs, field devices, industrial networks)
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities, ensuring system reliability and minimizing downtime
- Manage software updates, backups, and configuration adjustments for automation platforms
- Provide remote and onsite technical assistance to customers
- Collaborate with senior engineers and technical specialists for complex service interventions
- Ensure proper documentation and reporting of all service activities
In the medium to long term, you will:
- Strengthen your expertise in Siemens automation and control technologies
- Contribute to modernization and digitalization initiatives for customer systems
- Support the integration of OT systems with IT infrastructures, improving connectivity and efficiency
To be a perfect fit for this role, you would already have:
- Proven experience in technical service, commissioning, or maintenance of OT/automation systems
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or technical diploma
- Practical experience with Siemens or equivalent automation platforms (e.g. SIMATIC S7, PCS 7, TIA Portal, WinCC, DCS systems)
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus, OPC, Ethernet/IP, etc.)
- Basic knowledge of IT and networking fundamentals (IP addressing, switches, VPNs, firewalls)
- Fluency in Italian, and at least good working knowledge of English (written and spoken)
- Availability for frequent travel across Southern Italy, and occasionally other regions
- Strong problem-solving skills, autonomy in the field, and a collaborative team spirit
