Position Overview
As a Solution Consultant Intern within the Simcenter Presales organization, you will support our technical sales team in demonstrating how Siemens' simulation and engineering solutions enable Digital Thread and Digital Twin implementations across diverse industries. This internship offers hands-on exposure to cutting-edge Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) workflows and engineering process automation while developing both technical depth and customer-facing communication skills.
Working closely with experienced Application Engineers and Solution Consultants, you will gain practical experience in translating complex engineering workflows into compelling customer demonstrations, contributing to proof-of-concept development, and supporting the technical evaluation of Digital Thread strategies. You will report to the presales manager within the Simcenter organization and collaborate with a team of technical specialists across Siemens Digital Industries Software.
Responsibilities/Tasks
- Support the presales team in developing demonstrations and presentations that showcase Digital Thread connectivity, Digital Twin capabilities, and integrated engineering workflows using the Simcenter portfolio
- Assist in creating proof-of-concept scenarios that illustrate MBSE workflow implementations, multi-domain simulation integration, and data continuity across the product lifecycle
- Participate in customer technical discussions to understand engineering workflow challenges and help articulate how Siemens solutions address Digital Thread and systems engineering requirements
- Contribute to the development of demonstration materials, technical content, and workflow scenarios that highlight the value of integrated simulation environments
- Research and document emerging trends in Digital Twin technologies, MBSE methodologies, and engineering workflow automation relevant to target industries
- Support benchmarking activities that compare traditional engineering processes against Digital Thread-enabled workflows
- Assist in preparing technical presentations and training materials for customer engagements
- Collaborate with product development teams to provide feedback on workflow integration capabilities and customer requirements
Minimum Requirements
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- Foundational understanding of engineering simulation concepts and CAE methodologies
- Familiarity with systems engineering principles or MBSE concepts through coursework or projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to understand complex technical workflows
- Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and ability to create technical presentations
- Self-motivated with ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10-15%)
Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience
- Exposure to any simulation software tools (1D/3D CAE, CFD, FEA, system simulation, or multi-physics platforms)
- Understanding of Digital Thread or Digital Twin concepts through coursework, research, or internships
- Familiarity with data management, PLM systems, or engineering workflow automation
- Knowledge of systems thinking, requirements management, or systems architecture principles
- Experience with scripting or programming languages (Python, MATLAB, or similar)
- Interest in one or more industry domains: Automotive, Aerospace/Defense, Industrial Machinery, Energy, or Manufacturing
The hourly range for this position is $18.00 to $50.00. Siemens offers a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate’s work location, as well as degree type and relevant education. In addition, this position is eligible for time off in accordance with Company policies, including paid sick leave and paid volunteer time off.
The hourly pay range for this position is 18-50 per hour for first time Interns or 18-50 per hour for returning Interns. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location. Additionally, interns for Siemens are eligible to contribute into our 401K program.
