Your new role – challenging and future-oriented

As an EHS Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective implementation of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices across our project sites. You will help ensure legal compliance, build a proactive safety culture, and support continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and support site management in complying with applicable legal EHS requirements and in implementing Siemens Energy’s EHS Management System.
  • Develop and implement project-specific EHS Plans covering all phases of site activities.
  • Assist in preparing Risk Assessments, Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS), SOPs, and Emergency Response Plans for project operations.
  • Conduct kick-off meetings with contractors and evaluate their EHS manpower, resources, and equipment readiness.
  • Organize medical camps and verify fitness and health-related records of all site personnel.
  • Deliver site EHS inductions and implement a structured site-specific EHS training calendar.
  • Monitor the application of Toolbox Talks, LMRA (Last Minute Risk Assessment), and the Permit to Work system across all work fronts.
  • Conduct routine site inspections to identify unsafe acts or conditions and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Verify safety compliance of lifting tools, tackles, scaffolding, and other equipment before use.
  • Lead EHS promotional and awareness programs to enhance safety culture throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with contractors to review their EHS performance and support them in implementing continual improvements.
  • Maintain and regularly update legal and compliance registers and communicate relevant changes to the Project Manager.
  • Submit monthly EHS performance reports to the Segment EHS Manager and ensure timely reporting and investigation of incidents.
  • Enforce Siemens Energy’s EHS guidelines, targets, and the Rewards & Consequences policy at site level.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Basic: Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Professional: Diploma/Advanced/PG Diploma in Industrial Safety (mandatory).
  • Additional certifications such as SITRUST Training or First Aid Certification are

preferred.

Experience:

  • 10–12 years of overall experience in EHS management at EPC/construction
  • project sites.
  • Minimum 5 years as an independent EHS in-charge at a project site.
  • Hands-on experience in power plant projects, including:
    • Turbine, Generator, Gearbox installation
    • Boiler erection and commissioning

Technical Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of EHS practices in heavy equipment erection, mechanical
  • works, and commissioning activities.
  • Well-versed in EHS procedures, compliance standards, and legal regulations.
  • Skilled in EHS planning, audits, HIRA (Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment),
  • contractor evaluation, and employee training.
  • Proficient in preparing EHS MIS reports and delivering performance
  • presentations to management.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in English and Hindi is
  • essential.
  • Strong coordination, leadership, and supervisory skills.
  • Effective stakeholder management and ability to influence safety culture.
  • Strong documentation, analytical reporting, and presentation capabilities.
