Join the growing team at our world-class passenger railcar manufacturing facility in Lexington, NC! Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles.

Position Overview:

In this position, you will be part of an Engineering team to make Siemens Lexington the most efficient train manufacturer in the world. You will incorporate your experience along with best practices from around the world to establish production processes. Since Lexington is a new plant your work on the process layout will have immediate impact. 

What your day-to-day will look like:

• Plan logistics flow and warehousing strategy
• Design and procure specialty delivery carts to eliminate dunnage
• Develop material replenishment techniques including autonomous robotic delivery
• Work with other engineering and IT functions, external vendors and service providers
• Prepare warehouse and production floor layouts to meet storage requirements and schedule
• Make changes in material routings in SAP
• Review engineering drawings and 3D models to understand manufacturing process requirements
• Lead manufacturing improvements, process changes, and technology changes

To thrive in this role, you have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, or Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of technical experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience with 2D & 3D CAD systems and ERP systems (SAP preferred)
• Experience in just in time logistics including warehousing and buffer inventory
• Strong project management skills, including developing project plans, timelines, budgets
• Practical knowledge of lean principles to reduce waste
• A hands-on approach to problem-solving and countermeasure implementation

Physical Demands:

• The position is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds or more.

The base salary range for this position in Lexington, NC is $91,086 - $107,100. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
